When carrying out renovation work, everyone imagines that the result will be a beautiful, updated apartment. And it depends a lot on the quality of wallpapering. But often it turns out quite the opposite. The next morning, after pasting the wallpaper, it is found that they have parted or peeled off at the joints. The first question that interests at the moment is how to fix everything and how to glue the unsticked wallpaper and joints? This article will describe the causes of such troubles and how to fix them.
Why do the seams appear on the wallpaper?
Absolutely all wallpapers, regardless of whether they are on a paper or textile basis, have the property of swelling when exposed to moisture, in this case, glue. Moreover, this can be seen even with the naked eye. So, for example, if the wallpaper is half a meter wide and wet it with glue, they increase by several millimeters. Therefore, when pasting, nothing is noticeable, and after drying, the paper takes on its original appearance. As a result, gaps appear between the sheets and a bare wall is visible. To prevent this, it is not recommended to soak the used piece of wallpaper too much. When the sheet gets wet enough, you need to stick it immediately.
It is important to follow the instructions and give them the time indicated for impregnation. To glue the sheets, you need to strictly observe the impregnation time of each sheet and prepare only the amount that you can stick in the same period of time.
It is very important to properly prepare the wall for wallpapering and do not forget to prime the surface.

Amount of glue
Avoid applying a lot of glue to the wallpaper. It is necessary to apply such an amount of bonding material so that, when drying, the adhesive mixture first sets, and only then the sheet itself, and not vice versa. Be sure to saturate the edges of the wallpaper. As an addition, anoint the PVA at the joints on the wall and in the corners, and be sure to smear the needles. Cropping the canvas
Another reason why the wallpaper peels off the wall may be that the edges of the canvas are unevenly cut. One edge may be darker than the other. Therefore, when purchasing, it is necessary to check the series of each roll - they must be the same. It is also worth noting that cheaper wallpapers often have a visible joint.
Handle the rolls with care, do not stack rolls vertically, this will cause bending at the edges and stain the ends of the rolls. As a result, the joint becomes indistinct and dirt will come through and visually the joint will be noticeable.
If you take wallpaper with a checkered pattern or with a vertical stripe, the joints will be almost invisible. The transportation and storage conditions of the purchased wallpaper are also important. It is not recommended to store rolls without the factory packaging, and it is better if they are stored "lying".
How to fix these defects?
The resulting joints on the wallpaper can be fixed. There are several ways to do this. It is very convenient if the wallpaper is paintable. In this case, knocks can be treated with a sealant, then painted to match the selected wall color. But such manipulations are best done before painting the wallpaper.
Attention! Experts do not recommend using a putty for this, as over time it will begin to crack and crumble.
Bubbles and loose spots
To glue neatly the joints of the wallpaper that have come off in places or bubbles, for these purposes we take a 5 cc syringe. We collect PVA glue into it, only you need to first check its passage through the needle. Dilute with water if necessary. Wallpaper gluing is carried out in such a way that the needle does not stick into the wall and does not get clogged. It is important to saturate the wallpaper with glue and give it time to soak and then press it.
The way to glue the joints wallpaper
If the situation is more difficult, and it is necessary to re-glue the joints, you will have to prepare some tools and materials. For such work, you will need a spray bottle, a brush, a brush, a rubber roller, glue and warm water. First of all, you need to moisten the edges of the sheets and gently pull them together.
After a few minutes, they will absorb moisture, and then PVA glue can be applied. Then the connection areas should be aligned, run over them with a rubber roller. And, of course, smooth out the formed folds and air bubbles. As you know, all paper wallpapers can deform, so you should not get the paper very wet, otherwise it will simply break or unevenly distributed.
Sufficient hydration
Regarding vinyl or non-woven wallpaper, it should be noted that after drying, they shrink strongly, returning to the primary look. In this case, you will need to moisten the back of the edges to be re-glued. In this case, you can use a rubber roller, which does not stretch the paper, but only presses it against the wall surface.
It is important to take into account that they must be wet before gluing the wallpaper. Please note that the more the wallpaper gets wet, the wider it becomes. This will help the wallpaper to match properly.
Sandpaper
There are other ways to repair joints that are used for more serious damage. First, you need to rub the front side of the scraps remaining after work with sandpaper. Next, you need to take the tinting paste and dilute it with PVA glue. To mask the resulting gap, you should cover it with the resulting paste. This must be done very carefully. The paste can be the same color as the wallpaper.
It is also possible that the edges turn out darker due to the fact that the rolls are from different batches or the defective product was simply purchased. Therefore, you need to be very careful when buying and look at the ends of the rolls.

Patches and inserts
There is another method for hiding the seams on the wallpaper. But using it as an option is not suitable for all types of wallpaper. You can make "patches" from the remaining pieces of wallpaper and stick them on as artificial joints. To do this, you need to cut the patches and connect them to the edges of the wallpaper. In this case, it is important to accurately combine the wallpaper pattern and the finished patch pattern.
It is important to keep the sheet soaking time so that the sheet does not swell too much. When cutting, it is best to use a good flat trowel and a wallpaper knife with a new blade.
If you do everything very carefully, the result will be good.

Paper borders
