For a long operation of the Bosch perforator, any regular and timely maintenance is necessary, the use of high-quality lubricants, the timely replacement of carbon brushes, rubber products. Monitoring the condition of bearings and wear of parts. When starting to repair a Bosch punch with your own hands, it is recommended to use those lubricants that the manufacturer advises.

How to extend the performance of a Bosch punch

Bosch rotary hammers require mandatory inspection and maintenance. In order to properly operate perforators, you must:

  • do not allow dust to enter the cooling holes (you can wear a nylon stocking or use a vacuum cleaner);
  • lubricate drill shanks with special grease;
  • do not overheat the power tool (when overheated, the grease crystallizes and stops lubricating the rotating parts);
  • in case of intensive work, replace the rear rotor bearing every 6 months;

    change carbon brushes after 70 hours;

  • when drilling holes in the ceiling, turn the hammer down and rotate in this position for the lubricant to flow into place;
  • after work, be sure to blow compressed air into the inside of the perforator;
  • change the rubber cuff on the hammer drill chuck more often;
  • prevent the appearance of sparking on the collector brushes in idle mode;
  • the duration of continuous work should not exceed a 30-minute interval;
  • do not use the "Strike" mode often.

When starting to repair a Bosch 2-20, 2-24, 2-26 rotary hammer, read the lubrication card indicating lubrication points and lubricants.

Several types of lubricants are used to lubricate Bosch rotary hammers, depending on the operating conditions of the units and parts.

Bosch rock drills use four types of lubricants:

  • grease 1615430001- for the gearbox and its cavity;
  • grease 1615430002- for gears, pendulum rolling bearing, clutch;
  • grease 1615430020 - for bearings (FT1V26);
  • SAE 20 W grease - for industrial rubber goods.

Greases vary in viscosity and consistency.

Among Russian lubricants, we can recommend lubricants under the sonorous name "Zubr":

Assembling the Bosch rotary hammer 2-26

It is recommended to assemble the punch according to the scheme, for example, the Bosch 2-26 punch. The presence of an assembly diagram simplifies the process, prompts the assembly sequence of parts and assemblies.

The assembly of other Bosch rotary hammers is carried out in a similar way, although there are some design features in the Bosch 2-20, 2-24, 2-26 rotary hammers.

Assembling the electrical part of the Bosch rotary hammer 2-26

The assembly of the power tool, including the Bosch 2-26 rotary hammer, must be carried out in a prepared place.

Prepare your work area by covering your desk with clean paper or tissue. Prepare the tools you need to do the job. Of the tools you will need: screwdrivers, pliers, tester, hammer 100 g, soft metal spacers. Spacers come in handy when installing bearings on the rotor and the intermediate shaft of the Bosch hammer drill, for their attachments.

Assembling the rotor of the Bosch rotary hammer 2-26

On the repaired or new rotor, item 803, install the fan, item 5, and bearings, item 13, 14. Use Bosch grease 1615430020 to lubricate the rotor bearings.

Installing the stator into the housing

The installation of the stator, pos. 2, into the housing, pos. 801, begins by threading the connecting wires of the stator coils through the housing. The stator in the housing is fastened with two screws, pos. 80. To protect the stator from dust or dirt, a plastic casing pos. 45 is installed on it in the housing.

Installing punch control units

In the body of item 801, successively install the Bosch perforator power button, contacts item 19 and the reverse switch board item 16. make sure that all lead wires fall into the special grooves in the handle of the puncher.

Assembling the mechanical part of the Bosch rotary hammer 2-26

Before assembling the mechanical part, check the presence of new rubber seal rings, the integrity of all parts, the presence of lubricants according to the lubrication chart above.

Mechanical assembly and rotor assembly

The rotor is attached to the assembled mechanical assembly. The rotor and hammer assembly gears fit tightly into each other. To install the rotor in the mechanical unit of the hammer drill, it is necessary to insert the helical gear of the rotor into the inner housing until it contacts the helical large gear of the intermediate shaft. After assembly, turn the rotor, checking the smoothness of rotation.

The assembled mechanical unit is closed with a black plastic cover, pos. 819. The cover is fastened with four screws, pos. 90, with the installation of an O-ring, pos. 77. Always lubricate the rubber O-ring with SAE 20 W grease before mounting.

It remains to connect the stator housing (green) with the mechanical block housing (black). The housings are connected with four screws.

At the last stage, carbon brushes, pos. 811, are installed in the brush holders of the reverse switch, pos. 16. The knob pos. 4 of the speed regulator is inserted into the handle.

The wires from the stator windings, pos. 101, 102, and the power cable, pos. 806, are connected to the button.

Turn the percussion shaft (first by hand and then energized), and make sure that the rotor rotates smoothly and the brushes do not impede its movement, evenly touching the collector lamellas. Sparks in the area of the brushes do not have a tail, but spark evenly over the entire width of the working part.

It remains to close the cover, pos. 41, with two screws, pos. 77.

Setting the mode selector knob

To install the knob of the mode switch pos. 832, the Bosch 2-26 perforator must be put on its side.

Setting the mode switch

The assembled knob of the mode switch, pos. 832, is installed in the puncher body so that the red knob of the knob is directed parallel to the puncher handle.

The handle is turned clockwise to the “drilling” position. A characteristic click will occur. The punch handle is inserted.

Be sure to check the operation of the mode switch by turning it to the desired position and turning on the punch in each mode.

Assembling the quick release chuck

Bosch rotary hammers use SDS-plus models.

Structurally, they differ in the device for clamping the working bodies.

Punch cartridges are assembled after cartridge repair, replacement of the destroyed part.

Before assembling the cartridge, it is imperative to check the locking balls. They should not have any traces of corrosion, and their diameter should not differ from the nominal by more than 0.01 mm.

The assembly sequence of the quick-release chuck has been described more than once on our website.

The build quality of a quick release chuck is determined by its performance. Insert any tool with a matching shank into the hammer chuck. Holding the drill body with your hand, try to pull it out of the chuck by weight. If you fail to do this, then the cartridge is considered reliable.

That's all. The Bosch 2-26 hammer is assembled. The assembly of rotary hammer models Bosch 2-20, 2-24 is practically the same except for small parts that do not affect the assembly process.
