Plastic clips for plaster beacons are relatively new elements in the technology of applying plaster mix. With these fasteners, the guides are securely installed, but their position is easily adjusted by screwing and unscrewing the screws into the pre-installed dowels. This feature allows you to obtain high accuracy of the installation of the guides, even with serious deviations of the walls from the vertical position. Applying clips for beacons, you can practically do without "wet" work - preparing a solution for installing the guides and waiting for time to dry. Although it is recommended to use such fasteners, mainly when performing relatively small amounts of plastering work.

There are the following options for placing the guides on the wall:

  • mount kremmer for installing beacons:
  • clips for plaster beacons;
  • mount eared;
  • installation of beacons on the solution;
  • plastering walls without lighthouses;
  • string method of aligning walls.

Product design and characteristics

Plastic plaster clips of the KDM-2 brand are designed to install beacons on the wall and simplify the pouring of the floor covering. The product consists of two elements - a base and a clamp. Due to the design features, various options for beacons can be installed on such plaster beacon mounts - both T-shaped and A-shaped. And the basis for such fasteners are usually self-tapping screws of the ShSGD type (black gypsum plasterboard).

The main characteristics of the plastic fastening of beacons to the wall are:

  • its material is environmentally friendly polypropylene;
  • the thickness of the layer created with the clips. With the correct installation of the guides, it is 12 mm. Of these, 6 mm are occupied by metal guides;
  • the maximum consumption of the mixture is about 24 kg per sq. m. even in the case of finishing with its help the most uneven enclosing structures.

Benefits of using

Using fasteners for plaster beacons of the KDM-2 type, you can not only save plaster, but also install the guides yourself. Thus, both time and money are saved on using the services of professional craftsmen. In addition, the plastic fastening of the beacons allows you to do without more expensive self-leveling compounds.

Other advantages of the technology include:

  • the ability to mount guides not only with high accuracy, but also without special training;
  • increase in the speed of installation of beacons by almost 4 times;
  • the ability to start plastering work immediately after the position of the guides has been adjusted.

When using conventional methods of fixing beacons under plaster, the thickness of the material layer is usually overestimated by 10–20 mm. Moreover, any adjustment of the position of the guides becomes almost impossible. Whereas plastic fasteners leads to a rather significant reduction in the consumption of the plaster mixture. So, in the average "kopeck piece" with a total area of about 50 sq. m. the use of clips for attaching beacons saves 2-3 cubic meters of plaster mix. This reduces the cost of repair work by 4000–6000 rubles.

It is worth noting that professional plasterers using this method, how to fix the beacons on the wall, are unlikely to significantly increase the speed of work. Only performers with no special experience will receive a serious advantage. Especially in cases where plastering work is carried out alone.

Installing rails on plastic mounts

The correct installation of the beacons on the clip mounts is carried out as follows:

  1. At an equal distance from each other along the entire width of the ceiling, 5-6 dowels are installed, into which self-tapping screws are screwed;
  2. The fastener hats are set in the same plane using levels;
  3. Plastic clips are put on the caps of the screws for installing beacons;
  4. The guides are installed (the lower part should rest against the sides of the base of the clips), and then fixed. The base of their mounts is pressed with a plug, which is inserted into the slots specially designed for this;
  5. After it was possible to expose the beacons for plastering, you can begin to carry out the main part of the finishing work.

During work, be sure to use personal protective equipment. These include gloves and special glasses, which are especially important when drilling the upper part of the wall.

Installation features

After the installation of beacons for plastering the walls is carried out, they, as a rule, are held tight enough. But, if the guides are made of too thin sheet metal, the structure may bend during the plastering process. It is not difficult to avoid this - it is enough to use a spatula in order to knock the solution under the lighthouses, and only then sketch out the plaster mixture, leveling it with the rule. At the same time, deformation of even the weakest and most fragile guides does not occur.

For perfectly flat walls, which are very rare, but also require plastering, small recesses should be made at the installation site of each fastening of plaster beacons. In this case, the guides touch the enclosing structure along the entire length, and the thickness of the plaster layer is minimal. If the wall is uneven, you should find the most protruding place, and install the clip in the cavity nearest to it. In this case, it is easier to achieve quick adjustment of the position of the guide. Check out other options for placing metal beacons on the wall.

The main savings in the process of using fasteners for installing beacons is to reduce the consumption of plaster. On average, a decrease in consumption per 1 sq. m can be up to 10 kg of dry mix. The cost of plastic fasteners for plaster beacons does not significantly affect the total costs - about 30 clips will be needed for a wall measuring 3 x 6 m.

Prices for KDM-2 fasteners are currently as follows:

  • a set of 25 pieces can be purchased for 75–90 rubles;
  • a set of 100 pieces will cost 250-300 rubles.

Product Reviews

Users who use fasteners for plaster beacons leave feedback on their use. Most often - positive, testifying to the advantages of the technology, which is beginning to gain more and more popularity when carrying out repairs. Among the reviews you can find the following phrases:

Alexey, 34 years old: I used plastic clips for 10 mm rails. I placed them at a distance of about 60 mm - only 4 pieces were needed on a wall with a height of 2.7 m. The pluses of the mounts can be attributed to a decrease in beacon deflections and a decrease in backlash. I would recommend installing clips the more often, the thinner the guide.

Nikolay, 42 years old: I was impressed by the way how to fix beacons for plastering walls. I used it for the first time when renovating my apartment. I am going to use it in the future, since in comparison with the usual fastening of the guides, almost a third of the plaster mixture is saved.

Alexander, 39 years old: Worked with fasteners for the installation of plaster beacons. I can say that a good master can easily do without them. It turned out to be much more profitable to plant the guides on a plaster mix, leveling them up and using the experience of previous work.
