You can cut in the loops with a chisel yourself by eye. You can, of course, more quickly with a hand router. You don't have to think that a router is something large and industrial, it is a perfectly acceptable tool that requires at least a couple of diameters for different types of locks. Washed down the loops on the box

We take with the help, we make a selection with a chisel. This can be done with a router, since the same manipulation is shown in the photo, we set the zero mark plus the depth of the loop. For clarity, we use the second stick of the box, it will not allow you to accidentally deepen the sample. We make a sample of the door frame with a router, for convenience we fix it with a clamp. After sampling, we modify it with a chisel. That's it, now our door hinges match perfectly.

Lock insert and handle height

The usual standard for installing a lock handle is from 900-100 mm, depending on the door lock and ease of use. Locks and latches are usually of different thickness of the false strip and can be either rectangular or with semicircular edges. Consider the options for inserting door locks, but they have the same principle. We fasten the lock with rectangular edges to the door with the front side in the center, assuming that the handle will be 1 meter from the edge of the door. We outline the contour with a construction knife, and we get a contour for cutting with a chisel or using a milling machine. It is important not to deepen the sample much under the decorative plate of the lock, even if it protrudes slightly better. Now, slowly, we begin the first selection, leading along the contour, the main thing is not to go over the edges, so as not to spoil the door. We proceed to the second stage of the lock insertion, measure the width of the lock body, take the collet of the required diameter and start sampling the depth. Change to an elongated collet and select the full depth of the lock.

Work very carefully, hold the machine tightly, because there may be nails, knots, screws. It is important to know that the milling machine is vibrating and the door leaf coating may be damaged (especially for cheap machine models).

We proceed with the installation of the handle, mark the centers of the handle with a pencil and outline the outline of the lock cylinder, to drill the holes we use feathers on a tree of the required diameter. It is imperative to drill holes on both sides of the door so as not to pull out a piece of the canvas.

Putting the box together

Since we have already decided on the length (2018mm). We calculate the width on the condition that you need to make a gap between the frame and the door of 2 mm on each side. You need to pay attention to the hinges, what is the longitudinal gap there. We took everything into account, we wash down the width.
