Three-chamber double-glazed windows are quite popular in Russia. For most territories of the country, it most optimally meets its tasks, retains heat with high quality, insulates noise if the windows face noisy streets or courtyards. Unlike one- and two-chamber counterparts, three-chamber windows are significantly thicker and, as a result, heavier. There are also thicker structures with additional air chambers, but the three-chamber model is considered the most successful and optimal. It does a good job of isolating the room from the street, has less weight and is more affordable. Often it makes no sense to put the product thicker.
The design is a double-glazed unit with three sealed air chambers and four glass panes. The chambers can be filled with dry air or gas, in addition, they can differ in thickness.
When is a three-chamber glass unit needed?
Three-chamber plastic windows can be of any size and shape. Their choice depends on the following factors:

- If the construction site is located in a noisy area and you need quietness in the room.

If we compare a double-glazed unit with three chambers and with one, the first will turn out to be much warmer, in the room there will be practically nothing to be heard from the street, while a single-chamber product is not able to sufficiently isolate sound. At a temperature of -15, it will begin to freeze.
When choosing an insulating glass unit, pay attention to what kind of glass is used. The main quality depends on whether the glass is low-emissive or ordinary. In the case of using ordinary glass, the number of cameras will not play a big role.
Three-chamber windows do an excellent job of absorbing noise. The more cameras, the quieter the room. It is worth noting that, in general, a double-glazed window is able to save you from high-frequency noise. Unfortunately, it will not save you from sounds like the movement of a train. Thick double-glazed windows let in significantly less light than ordinary ones, so you should be prepared for the fact that the room will not be so bright. However, in areas where lighting is already insufficient, for example, in the Arctic, the difference will not be so noticeable.
Value for money
Choosing plastic windows, two-chamber or three-chamber, many buyers are guided by the price of the product. A three-chamber product is much more expensive than a two-chamber one, by about 50% of the cost. The price is explained not by the high cost of the profile, but by the complicated technical manufacturing process. In addition, not all companies produce such windows, because of this there is some monopoly.
Also, the more weight a glass unit has, the more powerful the profile should be. It needs to be reinforced, otherwise there is a risk of bending the structure. It is worth choosing high-quality fittings right away, otherwise it will quickly fail, and this also increases the cost of the window.
Do not trust the installation of a window to non-professional workers. It is important that the structure is installed correctly and efficiently, the quality of its functioning depends on it.
In order for the window to last longer, you should not make a lot of opening sashes - perfectly fixed glazing, since the open sash has too much load. Since the room needs to be ventilated, you can order a design with a window or install a special valve for ventilation.
What is a sectional structure?
If we look at a three-chamber double-glazed window in section, we will see 4 glasses, between which there are voids filled with gas or air. When assembled, the insulating glass unit is absolutely sealed, the gas remains inside it throughout the entire service life of the insulating glass unit, if the conditions of its operation are not violated. Separating frames can be located inside the voids; they serve to strengthen the structure. Outside, the glass unit is covered with a sealant; usually transparent is used in order not to spoil the aesthetic side of the structure.
It is quite simple to visually distinguish a three-chamber structure. It is very thick. In order for the profile to withstand the weight of the glass unit, the profile itself is made wider, and the area of the glass unit is smaller. The distance between the glasses can be up to 6 mm. The thickness of the glass itself rarely exceeds 4 mm. Based on this, we can conclude that the thickness of the glass unit with three air chambers will be at least 34 mm.
Most often, there are structures with a thickness of 40 mm. This is an optimal combination of quality that does not greatly affect the weight of the structure. Thus, usually 4 glasses of 4 mm are used and the thickness of the air chamber is 8 mm.
A three-chamber double-glazed window does an excellent job of isolating the cold, can make the room very quiet. The structure has a fairly large weight, and it is not always possible to install it in any window opening.
