Fixing beacons

Mix preparation

For work, it will be necessary to prepare a high-quality solution. You can purchase ready-made options in the store, or mix everything yourself, observing the proportions and recommendations. For streets and outside areas, you should choose a higher grade of cement - M600. Its durability will be top notch. Before pouring the floor in the bath with a slope, you should buy a cement grade of at least M400.

Brittleness is ensured if the mixture has been lying for a long time and has not been used. It is very important to pay attention to the date of manufacture and service life.

To mix all the ingredients of the future solution, you need to take a concrete mixer. With its help, a homogeneous solution with the best strength characteristics will be obtained.

The ratio of sand and cement M400 is 1 to 4. In the future, it is only necessary to gradually add water, getting a thick slurry. No sand admixtures should be seen.

The solution should be somewhat thicker than when installing a concrete screed in other rooms. This will contribute to the full formation of the bias. In this case, surface irregularities are allowed, since they will subsequently be removed with tile adhesive. If the screed defects are obvious and striking, then cutting with diamond wheels should be used.

Reinforcement process

Between the exposed beacons, a reinforcing mesh is laid, which helps to improve the quality and strength of the poured solution. Steel rods are an alternative. The main thing is to fix them correctly and securely. They should not be located directly on the base, but be somewhat raised above it. For this, concrete fillings are suitable.

Nowadays, more and more fiber is used instead of any metal elements. Fiber allows you to reduce the total weight of the ready-made mortar when installing with a slope, and also increases ductility and strength after drying. Despite the fluidity, the fiber-reinforced mortar fits perfectly even at an angle. If we take into account the cost, then it will be even lower than purchasing a metal mesh.

Reinforcement is simply necessary if concrete is poured in a room not in one stage, but in several. If you bypass the laying of a metal mesh, then the concrete will begin to crumble and crack.

Screed installation

When there is no experience to perform such types of work as pouring the floor in a bath with a slope, then you should seek help from specialists. They will tell you that the installation is best done in two stages.

To begin with, a solution is prepared that is thicker and with a high content of crushed stone. This will be a kind of foundation. The second layer of concrete is thicker and almost free of rubble. The time delay between two stages should not exceed a day. If you skip more, then the bottom layer will begin to dry out and will hardly be able to grab onto the second one.

The finished solution is poured between the beacons, after which it is evenly distributed over the entire area of the room. The sequence of work may depend on who, what methods of filling the floor screed are chosen. You cannot be afraid of a large amount of solution, since it is easier to remove it than to fill the voids later. The procedure for removing excess mortar with a rail should be repeated at least 2-3 times in order to achieve maximum effect. Some recommend using a vibrating screed. But its cost is high, which does not justify the purchase when pouring floors with a slope in one or two rooms.

Quality mixture

It is not difficult to learn how to fill a sloped floor. Everything comes to the same with experience. But it is very important to take care of a quality mixture. You can improve the properties by adding various additives and components that improve the characteristics of the finished solution. The screed begins to compact on its own if plasticizers are added to the composition, and artificial fillers contribute to an increase in strength after solidification, resistance to cracking and the appearance of fragility.

The slope angle is considered optimal up to 10-12 degrees. It will be enough for excess water to be removed into the drain in the bathroom or bath. In addition, reinforcement can often be dispensed with. It is worth remembering that everyone can fill the floor with a slope.
