Many people often have a question, is it possible to glue drywall to the wall? And the answer is quite simple. Drywall is a dense three-layer material. It can be used to decorate any type of room. Only the type of material used depends on this, which can be with increased resistance to humid environments and ordinary.
A more relevant question is, what can you glue drywall to the wall? This can be done on a quick-drying and at the same time very viscous mixture. For this, gypsum-based compositions from the well-known manufacturer Knauf are suitable. It is also possible to use polyurethane foam with a low expansion coefficient as a means of fastening.
How to glue drywall to the wall? The question is very relevant where speed is required and it is necessary to save space as much as possible and the walls must be leveled in any way. Moreover, drywall is a modern universal material, with which you can not only carry out "dry plaster", but also perform complex transitions and interior elements.

Before proceeding with the description of the work processes, it is necessary to consider the existing technologies and options for this work:
- gluing using Knauf gypsum glue on a flat surface;
- gluing sheets with low expansion foam;
- installation by means of glue on walls with large deviations from a single plane.
Plasterboard installation on a flat surface
Consider a way to glue drywall to a wall with minimal deviations that do not exceed 5 mm. In this case, it is enough to simply apply glue to the sheet and stick it to the wall. But the technology is not as simple as it seems at first glance, because when the sheet is in place it will be quite difficult to align it. In this regard, it is first necessary to apply markings on the walls and ceiling, which will be a guideline when aligning the sheets into a single plane.
So, using a rule or a long level, it is necessary to determine the irregularities on the wall. With their help, the most convex part is found out, which will become a reference point.
10 mm (sheet thickness) retreat from it and using a level mark is applied to the floor, and using a plumb line it is duplicated on the ceiling. Having both landmarks, the sheets can be positioned on the wall with minimal deviations.
After applying all the marks, the linings are pre-cut from the same drywall. On them, the sheets are installed when glued.
But before gluing drywall to the wall, you must carry out all communications. Low-voltage and low-voltage lines can be laid directly under the sheets with their preliminary fixing to the wall in increments of no more than 50 cm. Cutouts for socket boxes and boxes should be made in the wall in advance, because then it will be inconvenient. High-voltage power lines must be placed in grooves and in a fireproof sleeve.
After carrying out all the preparatory work, it is necessary to prime the surface of the sheet and walls. Moreover, if there was whitewash, then it is necessary to remove it. Ways to remove paint.
If you have paint, then the best option would be to purchase a primer mix called "Contact" or "Betonokontakt". Its cost is quite high, but on the other hand, the glue on it will be held no less firmly than on a surface without paint.
The next step is to start gluing the drywall to the wall. To do this, it is necessary to dilute the amount of Knauf gypsum glue, which will be sufficient for gluing one sheet. These measures are necessary due to its instant solidification. And in order not to face the above-mentioned problem, it is necessary to fulfill this condition.

Methods for applying glue
Depending on the degree of unevenness of the wall, the method of its application also depends:
- If the wall has slight deviations, then it must be applied in small portions at intervals of 25 cm along the edges of the sheet, in the middle it is possible less often. You can also apply glue directly to the wall at the request of the master.
- If the wall does not have significant deviations, then the glue is applied with a notched trowel evenly over the entire sheet.
After applying a layer of glue, let's look at how to stick drywall to the wall. This must be done promptly and accurately. First of all, it is necessary to set the lower edge of the sheet on the lining, then, aligning its position relative to the marks on the floor, raise it and press it to the plane. With the help of a rule or a long level, bumps on the sheet are determined and are successfully removed with light taps or pressure.
If a level-rule is used, then tapping on it is not recommended, therefore, it is enough to lean it against the wall and outline the place where you need to tap. Then remove the level to the side and level the place, then check the plane again.
After leveling the sheet, it must be supported with a wooden block or other device for several hours.

Application of polyurethane foam
One of the materials for fixing drywall can be polyurethane foam with a low coefficient of expansion. But in this case, the sheet must be fixed more securely, because the expansion force of the foam will tend to push it away from the wall. If you miss the moment, you will end up with bumps, which will be simply impossible to get rid of. But before that, it is also necessary to prime the surface of the walls and sheet. And the process of aligning its position is no different from the first option.
It is important to carefully use the foam, if you get dirty with foam then read the article on how to clean the surface and hands.
Gluing drywall to a wall with plane deviations
It is possible to mount drywall on glue to the wall, even if there are deviations of up to 4 cm. But in this case, it is necessary to use guides 10 cm wide from the same material. They are glued in places where there is greater deflection. Then, by increasing the amount of glue, the remaining differences on the wall are compensated.

The technology of processing the wall and the method of leveling it in place is no different from the first and second methods. It is only important here not to overdo it with tapping and indentation, which can lead to the formation of irregularities in the form of a sheet failure. It is also imperative to use the markings on the ceiling and walls. This will help you avoid the hassle of rework or remaining small gaps that will make you feel bad.
How to glue drywall to the wall in this case? One of the excellent tools for this will be Perflix glue. It has good adhesive properties, which appear immediately after the composition is applied to the surface. Sheets can be glued on gypsum plaster mixes, and thin sheets with Fugenwüller. It is important to remember that the vitality of the solution is 20 minutes and the work must be done quickly.
