In cold times, in addition to the main heating system, additional sources have to be used. But fan heaters and space heaters consume a lot of energy. In this case, you should think about an embedded heating system that has a lot of positive qualities. Among them, a warm water floor is especially popular, which can be performed using various installation schemes for a warm floor.
Pros and cons
Compared to the same heating devices, a warm water floor is characterized by low energy consumption, increased comfort, aesthetic appearance and safety in use. But it is worth noting other advantages that can be obtained if, according to the technology, the installation of a water-type heating system in the floor is carried out.
-
Due to the insignificant average temperature of the coolant in the pipeline at the level of 50 degrees, energy resources are spent in much smaller quantities. Savings are usually up to 25%. If the ceilings in the room are high, then the savings will reach 55%. In the latter case, this is due to the fact that the air is heated not in the entire room, but only to a height of 2-2.5 meters. It makes no sense to waste resources to warm up the air directly from the ceiling. It is due to its economy that this system is gaining immense popularity among heating devices.
Choosing a scheme for a warm floor - When drawing up a plan for the entire room, as well as choosing a design, you should not think about the location of heating radiators and other heating devices. All of them will be completely hidden under the floor, and will not spoil the appearance of the entire room.
-
Heating of air in the room is carried out not only evenly, but also systematically. There is no massive release of energy in one of the sections, and reduction in the other. Everything is done sequentially. In this case, everyone is comfortable in the room, all conditions are created for a healthy stay. This method of installing the heating system will be especially relevant for children's rooms, when children spend most of their time on the floor playing games.
Choosing a scheme for a warm floor - During the operation of a warm water floor, there is no need to be afraid of getting burned, getting any injury from the coolant. This is due to the complete hiding of the elements under the floor. Even children cannot get hurt in any way, under any circumstances.
But since they have advantages, one must not forget about the difficulties that can be encountered in the process of using a warm water floor system.

The most basic of these is complex editing. From the first try, it is unlikely that a beginner in the construction industry will be able to cope with the task set alone. It is best to use the services of specialists who have experience in this area. Before starting the installation of all components, a high-quality preparation of the base should be made, the selected screed option should be performed to level the base. In addition, everything is basically done in several layers, which further increases the installation process.
If defects in the pipeline are found, then the coolant will leak, which will go down. If a screed is located there, then it is unlikely that he will go to the neighbors, but still the situations may be different.

But this will disrupt the performance of the entire system and the heat will not flow into the room. It will be difficult to find a problem spot on your own. We'll have to dismantle the flooring and look for a repair site.
When the room has good thermal insulation, then a warm water floor can act as the main source of heating. In this case, high-quality double-glazed windows and doors should be installed so that the heat does not disappear anywhere. In addition, there will be areas where it will not be possible to carry out the installation of a water-type heated floor - stairs to the second floor, corridors of minor area. Here you have to think about equipping the premises with additional heating sources.
Experts assure that a warm water floor can rightfully be considered the best additional heat source.
For the device of a warm water floor, various wiring diagrams can be used, which in turn have their own characteristics.
Spiral scheme
In this method, the pipeline is located in the form of a "snail". All of them are located along the entire plane in the room, like those elements where the heated coolant passes, as well as cooled down for subsequent heating. The pipes must be parallel to each other.

Air heating in the room and the sub-floor is carried out progressively and evenly. Walls that are external to the street can be additionally insulated by performing a double spiral. A small spiral is attached to the base of the floor at the entrance door and along the "heated" walls, and along the cold areas is a second spiral. If you look at the arranged pipeline, you can undoubtedly say that it is a snail in shape. The pipe spacing may decrease when placed near a “cold” wall.
Among the positive qualities, it can be noted that the underfloor heating circuit performs heating of the room evenly. In this case, the hydraulic resistance is noticeably reduced. When choosing this scheme for a warm water floor, the number and consumption of pipes and other material is somewhat smaller, since only the necessary space is filled. Pitch reduction is achieved by smooth bending of the pipe.

All these positive aspects are associated with pipe installation, which is unlikely to be completed the first time and on our own. Compared to other options for the location of the pipeline, this water-type floor heating scheme is one of the most complex in terms of design.
The floor surface warms up evenly over all areas also due to the fact that the spiral turns are evenly distributed over the entire base of the floor. Despite the fact that the pipe for removing the heat carrier is also located inside the room, it is placed in series together with the heated elements, which can be seen in the presented diagram of a warm water floor in the house.
Features of the "snake" scheme
The used layout of the warm water floor is provided for those rooms where it should be divided into corresponding zones according to temperature indicators. The modes will differ due to the selected distribution of heating elements.
A loop with hot water can be launched in parallel and along one of the walls, and in this case, a single snake is created inside the room. In this case, the main level of temperature and heat in the room will be located in one of the halves of the room from the heat carrier supply source. In this case, the second half will warm up somewhat less and will generally be cool to the place where the heat carrier leaves. So this option is more suitable for rooms with zoning floor areas with different temperature levels. You can create a warmer area at the entrance, and a cooler area at the back. Or do the opposite.

The double snake is more effective, when figuratively cool and warm areas alternate with each other. Then the heating will be more uniform, but areas with a lower temperature from the heating elements will still be clearly visible. As you move away from the heating agent supply area, the degree of heating of the floor surface will also decrease. In addition, in this case, the pipes will have a larger bending angle, which can negatively affect the quality of the material.

There is another option for laying a warm water floor - an angular snake. This is mainly suitable for rooms with corners. Consequently, two walls will face the street at once, and they will be considered "cold". It is very easy to implement in practice. But on the other hand, a significant pipe bend angle is created along the entire length of the heating section. If you do everything in small steps, then there is a high probability of a break in a particular section.
Combined option
Not all rooms are rectangular. In addition, two "cold" walls in a room cannot always be warmed up, taking into account the use of one specific layout of pipes for a warm water floor. In this case, a combined version is used, where several schemes are combined in one, or the same scheme is alternated in different areas in the room.

Pipes are located in loops along the outer walls. Most often they are mounted on the base at right angles to each other. In this place, you can even reduce the spacing of the pipes in order to achieve the best result for heating the room as a whole.
For the installation of warm water floors in a city apartment, you should familiarize yourself with all the documentation and possibly obtain an appropriate permit. The exception is the inclusion of warm water floors in the basic version of the heating system of new buildings.
The combined option of laying water floors according to the scheme functions only during the heating season. All installation work will have to be done on our own. If the connection is carried out to a single autonomous boiler, which is typical for new buildings, then the heating will supply heat inside the room throughout the year. In this case, the scheme for laying pipes for underfloor heating is selected at the discretion of the contractor.

When installing a water-type underfloor heating according to one of the selected scheme, the desired result will be obtained. The room will be warmed up from the floor and will make you feel comfortable in it. There will be no unnecessary waste of energy by reducing the limiting temperature of the coolant. In addition, in rooms with high ceilings, the heat will not rise above 2.5 meters from the floor level. It also saves on heating costs.
You can preview video instructions, consult with experts in this direction, in order to independently install the circuit for a warm water floor competently. Only with a strict adherence to the technology of placing pipes under the floor screed will the room receive the required amount of heat, starting from its surface.
