Plastering the walls is done to level them before further painting, wallpaper or tiles. For plastering the walls, use special dry mixtures or a mixture of cement and sand. The consistency of the resulting plaster must be thick enough so that the mixture does not slide down the wall under its own weight. Be sure to watch a video of plastering walls on lighthouses below from the pros.

There are the following options for placing the guides on the wall:

  • mount (Kremmer) for installing beacons;
  • clips for plaster beacons;
  • mount for lighthouses Ushastik;
  • installation of beacons on the solution;
  • plastering walls without lighthouses;
  • string method of aligning walls.

The procedure for installing the guides

Before work, the walls should be cleaned of the remnants of old plaster, glue, etc. It is also necessary to prime the walls with special primer mixtures or ten times diluted PVA glue. See which primer is best for you. A very important detail is the correct alignment of the beacons. For them, slats are used, plastic or wooden. To attach them to the wall, it is necessary to apply a little mortar with a spatula along one line, retreating from the corner by about 20 cm – 30 cm. Press the rail into the mortar. Beacons (their outer edge) should be 25–35 mm from the wall. Using the level, we verify the vertical position of the rail.

We repeat the procedure from the side of the second corner. Then, outside of each beacon in the lower and upper parts of the wall, we drive in a dowel. His hat should be flush with the beacons. We stretch a piece of cord horizontally between the dowels, from above and below. We put additional beacons along the cord. The distance between two beacons must not exceed the length of the rule. Now you need to wait a few hours for the solution to finally set. Plastering walls on lighthouses is the simplest and, accordingly, common technique.

Immediately before work, the wall should be wetted so that the plaster better lay on it, and wait a little, let the water soak. When working in damp conditions, a little alabaster can be added to the plaster. Plastering of walls is carried out only at positive temperatures. If desired, for greater reliability, a fine-mesh mesh, metal or synthetic materials, can be fixed on the wall. If the work is carried out on silicate brick, then the presence of a mesh becomes mandatory.

You can proceed directly to the plaster. We put the solution on the wall with a spatula or even with our hands. Further, the rule is to level the mixture along the wall from the bottom up. Work should be done without much pressure. The corners are leveled with a spatula. Don't forget to remove the beacons. We rub the resulting seams with a solution. Now all that remains is to wait until the plaster is completely dry. The surface can be rubbed with special carbolite floats. Rodband plaster consumption calculator.
