The task of saving space in a small bathroom required a non-standard solution. The choice was made to install the washing machine over the toilet. Yes, the store has ready-made ideas for washing installations, but they are not enough for a family with a small load. After much thought and searching for interesting ideas, I had to solve this problem myself. Realizing that the machine is heavy, itself weighs 50 kg, plus vibration, led to the search for a non-standard solution to this problem. I will share my work result on how you can install a washing machine over the toilet and free up more space in a small bathroom.

Choosing the right toilet

Calculating the height, realizing that the machine should be located as low as possible for ease of use. The standard height of an ordinary toilet is 80 cm and plus you need a place to press a button, this is not very convenient and aesthetically pleasing. I fixed the corners on the level on the anchors for the future formwork. Then I cut a piece of waterproof plywood to size. With a puncher I drilled 14 mm holes around the perimeter in the wall for reinforcement and tied it with a knot. Raised the side for pouring 15 cm and concreted the podium for the sterile machine.

When the concrete froze, I finally proceeded to connect the system to the water supply and sewerage system. After checking the system for leaks, making sure that everything works and fits, he erected a frame for drywall. Next, cutting out the holes for the pipes, screwed the sheet. All other processes are standard, priming and tiling. The result is a pedestal over the washing machine.

Thanks to this arrangement, it turned out to install both shelves and a niche for a backup water heater. A refrigerator is installed on the back, which is located in the bathroom.

Nuances when installing a typewriter over the toilet

After completing the work, it's time to connect and lift the machine up.

Ideally, you need to make a vibrating plate for your washing machine. To do this, we take a sheet of 60 × 45 cm in size from plywood, plexiglass, plastic.
