The assembly of the Hitachi DH24PC3 hammer drill can be carried out by any user who has the skills of a locksmith and knows the general rules of working with electrical appliances.
Before proceeding with the assembly of the hammer drill, prepare the workplace, a set of new rubber products, the necessary lubricants, tools, and a tester.
The punch assembly is divided into several stages.
Assembling the mechanical part of the Hitachi DH24PC3 rotary hammer
The assembly of the mechanical part begins with the assembly of the individual units included in the block.
Assembling the intermediate shaft of the rock drill
The intermediate shaft is part of the rotary hammer gearbox and performs two functions:
- transmits torque to the perforator barrel;
- converts the torque into a reciprocating impulse due to the work of a drunken bearing.

A drunk bearing, pos. 53, a helical large gear wheel, pos. 54, a metal ring, pos. 55, and a bearing, pos. 56, are put on the shaft of pos. 52.
The Hitachi DH24PC3 rotary hammer uses Japanese-made bearings of the 626VVM type. Bearing dimensions 6x19x6. Can be replaced by the Russian analogue of type 26.
Drunken bearing, helical gear, bearing are smeared with grease. From domestic analogs, the Nanokhim lubricant is recommended, labeled as PM or Nanotech under the Metallplak Electra label.
On the other hand, a clutch sleeve is put on the shaft, pos. 51, the pressure spring, pos. 50, the spur gear, pos. 49, the mode switch lever, pos. 48, and the metal sleeve, pos. 47.

The assembled shaft is inserted into the inner housing of the puncher, pos. 41.
Assembling the barrel of the hammer drill
To start assembling the hammer drill, it is necessary to press the assembled barrel of the hammer into the cover of the mechanical block.

A spur gear, pos. 25, a helical spring, pos. 26, a steel washer, is put on the barrel, pos. 24
M30 pos. 27, fixing ring pos. 28.

In the housing of the mechanical block assembly, it is necessary to press the bearing pos. 15, into which, in turn, the barrel itself is pressed.

Item 10 is inserted into the body:
- oil seal pos. 12;
- impact mechanism sleeve pos.13;
- felt seal, pos. 14;
- the bearing 6904DD pos.15 is pressed in;
- insert the metal limiting sleeve pos.16;
- everything is fixed with a retaining ring pos. 17.
To press in the bearing, use a press or a hand-held wooden guide.
The outer bearing race is pre-lubricated with grease before installation.
The body, pos. 10, rests with its end against a cylindrical gasket made of aluminum, copper or wood.
The bearing is inserted into the housing and is pressed in with a guide and a hammer. When pressing in, distortions are not allowed.

Insert the assembled barrel into the body and press it in, being careful.
Pressing in is carried out using a press or a vice with a simple device. Use a piece of wood or soft material as a fixture.
Assembling strikers
The hammer drill uses two types of strikers.

The striker, pos. 29 and the striker, pos. 37. The assembly of the strikers consists in putting on them sealing rubber rings with obligatory lubrication. Of domestic lubricants, Tsiatim-224 grease according to GOST 9433-80, inert to rubber products, is best suited.
On the firing pin, pos. 29, in addition to rubber O-rings, the holder of the percussion mechanism is put on, pos. 31, the damper bush, pos. 35, and the circlip, pos. 36. The ring fixes the details to the striker.
On the firing pin pos. 37. put on a rubber sealing ring pos. 38. The striker is lubricated with Tsiatim-224 grease and inserted into the piston sleeve, pos. 39.
Assembling the piston liner
To assemble the piston sleeve, it is necessary to insert the piston pin pos. 42 into its ears, after inserting the steel washers M30 pos. 43.
Assembling the impact mechanism
It remains to insert the assembled intermediate shaft, pos. 52, into the inner housing, pos. 41, articulate the shank of the drunk bearing, pos. 53, and the piston pin, pos. 42, inserted into the ears of the piston sleeve, pos. 39, in advance.

When assembling the barrel, when you insert the strikers into it, be sure to lubricate the inner surface of the piston.
The entire assembly process is accompanied by the use of those types of lubricants recommended by the manufacturer of rotary hammers or the corresponding domestic lubricants.
Setting the mode selector knob
Having connected the mechanical part and the stator block, you can proceed to setting the mode switch knob.

The mode switch knob, pos.21B, is installed from the bottom of the case.
To insert it into the case and fix it there, you need to:
- insert the spring pos.19 into the handle;
- insert the fixing red button, pos. 18;
- put on the rubber seal, pos. 20.
Insert the handle clockwise into the body to the “Impact” position, turn back 15 degrees until it clicks. The handle is locked.
Keyless chuck assembly
Hitachi DH24PC3 rotary hammers are equipped with SDS-plus keyless chucks.
The cartridge is mounted at the last stage of the perforator assembly.

A seal, pos. 7, a conical spring, pos. 6, and a washer, pos. 5, are put on the protruding shaft of the barrel.

The next step is to insert the locking ball pos. 23A. Ball article 335300.
A metal ring, pos. 4, is put on the shaft. The cartridge is closed with a cover, pos. 3, everything is fixed with a retaining ring, pos. 2, the front protective cover, pos. 1, is put on the shaft end.
The mechanical part of the Hitachi DH24PC3 rotary hammer is assembled.
Remember! When assembling the mechanical part, follow the rules for applying lubricants, use only those recommended by the manufacturer or domestic, specially designed for rotary hammers.
Assembling the electrical part of the Hitachi DH24PC3 rotary hammer
Let's divide the assembly of the electrical part of the rock drill into stages.
Stator assembly
The repaired or new stator, pos.65, is installed in the stator housing, pos.68, and is fastened with fixing screws M4 × 50 pos.64. Stator part number 340635F.

From above, the stator is closed by the guide of the impeller of the electric motor pos. 63. The stator wires are led to the control button pos. 70V.
Rotor assembly
The hammer drill uses an electric motor armature 220-230V, article 360720E.
A new or self-repaired rotor, pos. 62, is installed in a socket in the inner housing, pos. 41, with a felt gasket, pos. 57, previously put on the rotor shaft, an O-ring, pos. 58, a gasket, pos. 59, bearing 608DDM, pos. 60, and steel gasket pos. 61. Bearing dimensions 8x22x7, Russian analogue 80018.
The assembled rotor is inserted by a helical gear into the mechanical block of the hammer drill.
It remains to connect the mechanical block and the stator housing.
When you insert the rotor into the stator housing, first remove the carbon brushes together with the brush holders.
Assembling control circuits
The control circuits are a circuit that allows you to smoothly start the hammer drill, adjust the frequency and speed of its operation.

The Hitachi DH23PC3 hammer drill uses electric carbon brushes poz. 74, 77 with hitchhiking. The auto-stop does not allow turning on the perforator if the brushes are worn out more than the permissible norm.
Carbon brushes with hitchhiking have the article 999072, for ordinary brushes the article 999041. The carbon brushes in the perforator body are fixed with brush holders pos. 75, article 955203.
Some modifications use a choke position 69 and a diode contact position 72.
A noise suppression capacitor pos. 78 is included in the power circuit.
The hammer drill uses a 220V pushbutton switch (OLD 331454/324536). Article 335796. Switch type TG801TSBU-1.
The control circuit parts are mounted inside the handle of the stator housing.
Connect the hammer drill to the AC power supply, check its operation in all modes. Make sure that the adjustments are smooth and the hammer works quietly.
Everything!
