This screen design is prefabricated, which means that you need to start with the frame. To make it, you will need pieces of wood, 40 × 40, fasteners, consisting of screws and metal corners. The bars must be attached to the corners of the bathtub and screwed to the wall.

We make a screen for a plasterboard bath

Let's make the screen in several stages.

Stage 1

You need to start with the markup.

Stage 2

We mark a line on the wall, it should go from one of the corners of the bath to the floor.

Stage 3

At a distance of 2.5 cm from the drawn line, draw a new line parallel to the original. The new line should face the inside of the bathroom. Putting a plumb line to the protruding corner of the bathroom, mark a point on the floor.

Stage 4

From this point on the floor, you need to draw a square facing the inside of the bath. The size of the square is 2.5 by 2.5 cm.

Stage 5

From the corner facing the bathtub, drawn on the floor of the square, in the direction of the lines on the walls, draw one line.

Now you need to prepare the bars for the frame, from the timber prepared for this. The bars should be of the following sizes:

1. For the vertical frame of the frame, 4 bars of the same length are required, equal to the distance from the lower side of the bathroom to the floor.
2. For a short horizontal, 2 bars are required. The length should be equal to the line drawn on the floor parallel to the short side of the tub and minus 80mm (we need to account for double the width of the bar).
3. For a long horizontal line, the calculation of the line is similar, but we subtract 120 mm, we take into account the triple thickness of the bar during further assembly.

Stage 3

Now you need to attach the frame with the small side to the wall, while hardware (screws, screws, dowels) must be selected depending on the type of wall (concrete, brick, block, etc.).

Stage 4

Installation of a long frame is carried out similarly to the previous one. Now you need to connect the frames to each other with your own hands using screws and a screwdriver.

We make plasterboard panels for a bath screen

The material that will be needed to make both panels of the screen for the bath is drywall with moisture resistant properties. As a rule, it is dyed light green. We will also need a metal latch-lock and hinged hinges for fixing the inspection hatch door.

Next, we need to make the markup on the drywall sheet. For this, it is convenient to use directly the large and small panels of the future screen. The dimensions of the small one are equal to the size of the corresponding (smaller) frame, and the length of the second panel is 56 mm larger than the frame itself, 40 of which is the width of the bar, and another 16 is the thickness of the drywall of the small panel.

After the marking is completed, you need to cut off the marked parts with a sharp construction knife.

Just before mounting the larger panel to the frame itself, do not forget to make a square hole - your inspection hatch. Its length, width and location will depend on the size of the ceramic tiles (which will certainly decorate your handmade work). You can use an electric jigsaw to cut the hole.

Important: the hatch must be opposite the drain pipe and ladder.

Now you can start the final assembly. We hang the door on the hinges and attach the latch.
