In the previous article, we talked about how to level the ceiling of an apartment with our own hands, and now we will try to describe in more detail how to level the walls. If you care about the appearance of your house or apartment, then before preparing the walls for wallpapering or laying the tiles correctly, you need to align the walls.
How to properly align the walls in the apartment with your own hands?
First of all, you must decide with the help of which methods, you want to align the walls in your apartment, there are two ways. The first is to level the walls with plasterboard with a frame, and the second is a frameless method using building mixtures.
And decide for yourself what you will do with the wall after leveling. This is important, if you level the roofing felts in order to glue the wallpaper, or put tiles or just paint. If you want to glue the wallpaper or just paint, then you can level the wall using this option - do it yourself plastering the walls. And if you want to lay tiles, then you need mixtures. This will allow the tile to adhere better to the surface.
Now we will tell you how to level the walls using building mixtures quickly and independently.

Drive a nail in one of the upper corners of the wall, leave 2 - 3 mm on the surface. This will be the first beacon. Then take a thread and attach some kind of weight to it, for example a nut. And now we got a plumb line. Attach this plumb line to the nail in such a way that the load does not reach the floor a little. And wait until the plumb line freezes in place. Here's a straight line. Drive the second nail into the bottom of the wall so that the thread and head of the stud are in line. Look at the picture on the left.
In the same way, carry out the manipulation from the opposite part of the wall. We got 4 nails driven in along the perimeter, and two straight lines on both sides.
Now take another thread and pull it from the end of one bottom or top nail to the opposite end of the other, crosswise. And see that the thread stretched obliquely does not come into contact with the wall. All finished with the thread. Now take a straight stick or stick and lean it against two nails on one side of the wall.
Dilute the mixture and fill the space between the stick and the wall with a spatula. And wait. It should dry out. Here you have got an even straight line, it will be a beacon. Check it with a mounting level. Perform the same manipulations on the other side of the wall. It's not difficult. Dilute 10 liters of rotband and use a spatula to apply it to the wall in large strokes.
Then take a rule and an even stick and level the applied mixture. Movements up - down, or vice versa, along the beacon lines. If there is not enough rotband, add more until the wall takes on a flat surface. The angle can be trimmed with a spatula. That's it, do it right. Good luck to you. Wall alignment video.
